The Cuteness

I discovered "The Cuteness" at Jack and Jill's second hand store in Kalispell for only $15 ! I thought it was cute and was sure I could do something to make it even more cute. Its perfect for the baby to sleep right by my side until she starts sleeping through the night. SO EXCITED! Now I just need the baby so she can test it out! It was a fun project to keep me busy for a few days. All I had to do was make a longer skirt and replace the ribbon/bow. I went ahead and got some foam for a new mattress and bought some red flannel to make little sheets out of eventually. I have extra of the checkered fabric and I am trying to think of something fun to make out of it. It will probably just end up being a blanket for the bassinet. But if you have any fun ideas for it let me know! Friday I will be 6 months and starting my third trimester. It has gone by super fast! We close and get to move into our house on the 31st so I will be very very busy for a while. Laying down floors and painting walls and such. Then we are off to Utah shortly after! can't wait to see everyone! Love, Sara

We bought a house!

So, I never thought in a million years that I would be able to buy a house in this economy. These days trying to establish credit takes a lifetime in itself. We had been keeping our eyes open for owners willing to do owner financing, which we have heard is the best way for young couples to become first time home buyers, especially if there is a lack of credit. So Brad had been in contact with a guy who owned some houses down the street from where we are staying. We were basically just going to ask him if he would be willing to rent a house to us seeing as we have been searching for a rental for months and still hadn't found anything. We met up with his agent just so we could take a look inside the houses. Before I knew it we were in love with a house and they were agreeing to do owner financing with us! We spent the next few hours filling out the paper work. Who would have thought it would be so easy to buy a house! Not to mention the thought of a monthly payment to OWN a house would be far less than we were willing to spend on a rental. So unexpectedly and very quickly we found and bought a house. They are treating us very well seeing as we are their first buyers in years. Anyways so thats my explanation for how all of the sudden I own a house, and I thought I would share a few pictures. I forgot to take a picture of the outside of the house which I guess is OK. I will post a picture after we paint this summer. (The outside is a weird beige that is easily mistaken for pink.)We are very lucky and very blessed to have found this house. Its a 3 bedroom 2 bath and it has never been lived in before, (There was still plastic on the toilets.) So we have a nice clean shell to start our family in. There are things needing to be done before we move in, mainly just painting and changing some outdated aspects of the house that I just cannot live with. Here is the tour. First you enter into the living room. Its actually quite big. The window to the right is 11 ft long so that gives you an idea of the length of the living room.

The carpet in the living room and dining room to the left is the first thing to go. (one of the aspects of the house I mentioned I just cannot live with! Carpet in a dining room? Just wrong.) We have picked out some nice wood to lay down instead.

Nice big dining room, much bigger space than I needed. I recently bought a table from the salvation army to refinish, it will only take up a portion of that room. (I will post about the table when I am done staining) and the light fixture? Something needs to be done about the brass, any ideas? Metal paint? Replace it all together?

Next is my fabulously spacious kitchen.

The island is brads favorite thing about the kitchen. My favorite? Probably the big bay window and massive corner pantry you cannot see in this picture. That green tile is all throughout the house, mom and I were thinking red for the kitchen, but just a little.

The rooms are just boring but very nice sized rooms. I wont post pictures, but down the hall to the right is the first bathroom.

lol silly paper shower curtain aside, It's a good bathroom for my baby.

There is a nice walk in closet in the master bedroom and in the master bath a huge linen closet. My favorite part of the house? And possibly the only reason I wanted to buy it? The mater bathroom. Why? I will show you why.

Well hello giant bath tub, how are you? I have always wanted a bathtub that fits me. One where my arms aren't pinned so tightly to my side that my arm pits remain dry the entire time. A tub where the water will actually cover my stomach and boobs and possibly the knees. A tub where I can surround myself with pretty spa like things such as candles and bubbles. A bath pillow will actually serve a purpose in this tub and I am already thankful for the long baths I will take in here.

I have colors picked out for most of the house. And the baby nursery layout in my head, now I just need to move in and get to work! I think the main living space will look so nice once we lay down the floors, place some white molding around the bottom and paint the walls a warmer color, instead of what I would describe as "neon white" if there was such a color. It is so white I get a head ache while I am in the house.

A few more fun things inside the house? A den which will eventually have french doors to close it off. A very big laundry room with one of those giant slop sinks and cabinets all around. A walk in shower, which brad is excited about, I could care less. I have a yard to finally be able to plant flowers and have a wee little garden. Possibly even some hanging flower boxes outside of my cute bay window. But best of all its ours, all ours. no more renting for the rest of our lives! and little Aurora will have a place to come home to.
